What you need to know before you attend your Convocation ceremony.
Registration and guest tickets
If you applied to graduate by the August 23 deadline, have met the academic requirements for your program, and have been confirmed to graduate by the Office of the Registrar, you'll receive an email in September with instructions to register for your October 2024 Convocation ceremony. The email will be sent to your Sheridan email address.
Your email invitation will include a link to MarchingOrder, where you can:
- Register to attend your Convocation ceremony.
- Download your GradPass.
- Request guest tickets.
- Select your gown size.

When to arrive at your ceremony
Graduating students
- Arrive one hour before your Convocation ceremony to make sure you have enough time to check in, receive your gown and assemble for the procession. The graduand processional enters Convocation Hall 15 minutes before the scheduled ceremony start time.
- If you're late: Graduating students who arrive late will not be able to enter Convocation Hall in procession with their class. Do not arrive late.
Guests
- Convocation Hall will open for guests one hour before the scheduled ceremony start time. Please be seated upon arrival. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, so please arrive early.
Location and parking
- All of Sheridan's October 2024 Convocation ceremonies will be held in Hall 5 at The International Centre in Mississauga. View location and parking details.
Where to go when you arrive
- Graduating students enter the building through the doors at Hall 5A (west of the main entrance). Guests enter through the main doors at Entrance 5. View map showing where to enter the building.
- Graduating students: check in at Celebration Hall with your Sheridan Student ID card or government-issued photo ID to pick up your gown and marshalling card.
Things to remember before the ceremony
- Children are not permitted to sit with graduating students. Children over the age of three require a ticket to attend the event. Children in attendance must be supervised by an adult other than the graduating student.
- Make sure your guests have their tickets, as you will be entering the venue at different entrances. Digital tickets and printed tickets will both be accepted at the venue. Upon entry, each guest's ticket will be scanned for admittance. You can update and access your tickets in your MarchingOrder account.
- Leave all personal belongings with your guests or in your vehicle. You cannot cross the stage with personal belongings. Sheridan is not responsible for any lost or stolen belongings.
- Please be respectful of your classmates and remain in your seat for the full ceremony. Celebrate together as alumni until the conclusion.
Live streaming and video clips
- Each Convocation ceremony will be live streamed on Sheridan's YouTube channel. You'll also be able to access the live streams through our Convocation web page.
