Sustainability
Sheridan continues to lead, manage, and innovate for long-term sustainability by integrating sustainability within teaching, learning, and operations, seeking novel approaches and partnerships, and reinforcing our leadership in green campus initiatives.
- In 2024, Sheridan was awarded Gold Winner of the Global Future Design Awards 2024 for the design of the Hazel McCallion Campus Student Centre (HMCSC). Energy conservation and sustainability were a priority for the building’s design, construction and material selections.
- Visitors to the Sheridan Bike Hub nearly doubled from 2019 to 2023, and the Hub saw 200 bikes fixed, 769 bikes rented and 80 bikes made available for rent in 2023. Encouraging active transportation at Sheridan is a key focus of Sheridan 2027: Forging the Future, which guides our community to reduce our environmental footprint through Mission Zero strategies.
- • Sheridan launched a new partnership with Friendlier in October 2024, a reusable food container program aimed at reducing waste from single-use containers on campus. Friendlier supports Sheridan’s commitment to sustainability by collecting, sanitizing and reusing each container up to 100 times.

Unlock purpose
Learning today involves accessing and developing a part of yourself you didn’t know was there. It’s about learning from people and experiences as much as textbooks. It’s about asking tough questions and not being afraid to step outside your comfort zone.
At Sheridan, we know growth isn’t easy. Success doesn’t always come with your first attempt. But when you’re surrounded by a community that empowers you to learn and grow, amazing things happen. You become confident, more resilient and adaptable to change.
And that’s how you solve things. That’s how you discover yourself. That’s how you make an impact in the world.
Unlock purpose and possibility at Sheridan.
