Kerry is a professor in the BHSc Kinesiology and Health Promotion program in the Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies at Sheridan College. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto, OISE, in the Department of Leadership, Adult and Higher Education. Her research focus is on post-secondary students health and well-being with a particular focus on student's lived experience and debt.  Kerry received her Master of Public Health from Lakehead University, where her research investigated the relative perspective of the regulation of kinesiology among other health professionals.

Kerry has experience spanning more than two decades in the assessment, implementation and evaluation of community health programming, as well as, in business development and client services in the fitness and sport industry.

Kerry's teaching includes public health, individual and population health and wellness, health promotion planning and evaluation, health communications, research, community based participatory practices, and professional practice.

Sheridan Research Focus

Kerry has been involved in numerous community-based research projects including; identifying barriers to physical activity, childhood obesity, post-secondary student health, and the effects of community health programming on overall wellness and prevention of chronic disease. She is an advocate for community based participatory practice in all of the projects she is involved in. Kerry mentors a team of students every year who oversee numerous community wellness initiatives.
