Board Application
Due to a high volume of interest, we are not accepting applications at this time.
The Governance and People Committee of Sheridan’s Board of Governors is seeking qualified candidates external to the College to fill upcoming vacancies on the Board.
The Board is committed to effectively stewarding Sheridan’s long-term growth and sustainability. It is seeking additional thoughtful, collaborative, and strategic individuals to serve Sheridan as external governors. The Board values the diversity inherent in Sheridan’s home communities and is committed to reflecting the demographics, perspectives and needs of its stakeholders.
To complement the existing slate of governors, Sheridan is giving priority to recruiting individuals with demonstrated skills or experience in one or more of the following areas: strategic planning, change management, financial expertise, and risk management. We also welcome expressions of interest from individuals who have experience in higher education, entrepreneurship, and community building.
The Board term runs between September and June with approximately five Board meetings per term that are held in person. Subcommittees of the Board meet approximately four times per term and are held online. Meetings are two and a half hours in duration. Board members are encouraged to attend events at Sheridan throughout the year.
Questions can be directed to Nancy Goncalves, Assistant Secretary to the Board at nancy.goncalves@sheridancollege.ca.
Sheridan strives to create an equitable and inclusive teaching, learning and working environment. All qualified individuals who reflect the rich diversity of Canadian society, including equity-seeking group members are encouraged to apply.
