Sheridan Provost and Vice-President Academic Mary VaughanWith more than two decades of experience in academic leadership and a robust background in global education, Mary Vaughan embodies Sheridan’s dedication to academic excellence, quality student experiences, diversity and innovation.

She previously held roles as Senior Vice-President, Academic and Student Success at Lambton College, as well as Dean of the Faculty of Business at Seneca. She also played a pivotal role at the College of the North Atlantic – Qatar, where she worked to advance workforce development and academic excellence in the Gulf region.

Aligned with Sheridan's core values, Mary’s leadership orientation is grounded in a deep and genuine commitment to inclusivity and student success. Her efforts have led to significant increases in student retention and diversity, and the implementation of effective student advising models.

Mary is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Higher Education at Walden University. She holds a Master of Business Administration (Information Technology Management) from the University of Leicester and a Bachelor of Education (Post-Secondary) from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Successful Professional Advisory Councils provide strategic advice and input in the program review process and help the College respond to changing academic, business and industry requirements. Professional Advisory Councils help ensure that our programs stay relevant to the needs within the community and anticipate future trends. Their perspective assists us to ensure that new and existing programs are relevant and curricula are up to date so that graduates will possess the skills and competencies required by employers in the current and future labour markets.
