Academic Awards
The end of the school year is a special time at Sheridan. A highlight for the Sheridan community is celebrating student success at our Academic Award ceremonies. Through the generous contributions of donors, each Sheridan program publicly acknowledges and rewards students who have excelled in their studies, created a collaborative classroom environment, served as a mentor to other students, or who have exhibited tremendous talent in their chosen program. Academic Awards are selected by a panel of faculty at the end of the school year in April.
The minimum contribution to create a named Academic Award is $500. However, all donations are appreciated and will be directed to awards in the program of choice.
Impact
More than 600 awards are presented annually to deserving students. Being proud of their accomplishments, students eagerly list the academic awards they receive on their resume or networking profile. Employers are impressed by these accomplishments, especially as the donor’s named award is acknowledged.

Benefits to Academic Award Donors
Academic award donors attend and present their awards at the designated ceremony. They are able to meet the recipients of their award and extend congratulations in person.
Donors may be celebrated with a listing in the ceremony program and annual Convocation guide as well as on the annual donor wall at all Sheridan Campuses and on the Sheridan website. Contributions of $500 or greater receive a named award in honour of the donor, which is listed on the award certificate.
A tax receipt is issued where allowable.
