For External Researchers

External researchers wishing to engage the Sheridan community as participants in their research must apply for and receive Sheridan REB approval. Prior to submitting to the SREB, all external researchers must review the Policy on Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Human Participants.

Researchers with External REB Approval

The SREB will review approved applications from the Ontario Community College Multi-Site Expert Panel or other Canadian postsecondary institutions. The SREB will apply for Institutional Approval on the researcher’s behalf and, if granted, the application will undergo delegated review. Please email the SREB Coordinator with:

  1. The final approved external REB application.
  2. The final approved research materials (e.g. recruitment materials, informed consent forms, surveys, interview questions, etc.).
  3. The REB protocol approval letter(s).
  4. TCPS 2: CORE-2022 certificates of completion for all research team members completed after January 1, 2022.
  5. A cover letter that includes the following information:
    1. Involvement of the Sheridan community or resources in the project,
    2. Any approvals/agreements/permissions to assist with recruitment at Sheridan.
