Founder, Peter Watson Investments
When Sheridan opened its doors in 1967, a young Peter Watson was waiting. He went on to graduate with honours from Sheridan College’s first Business Class. More than four decades later, Peter has established himself as a leading financial educator in Oakville with extensive experience in teaching people how to preserve their assets, increase their income and reduce income taxes.
Since opening Peter Watson Investments in 1991, Peter has been helping clients achieve their financial goals through his Wealth Creation and Preservation Program™. His counselling focuses on retirees and those about to retire who want to protect their principal and ensure that their money lasts. Before starting his own firm, Peter’s initial business success included working in the Investment Division at Royal LePage and serving as Vice President at Equion Securities.
Peter Watson Investments has been voted Best Financial Planner in Oakville nine times by the Oakville Beaver Reader Selection Awards. Peter has written over 400 articles that have appeared in his column "Dollars and Sense" in the Oakville Beaver. A Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute, Peter holds the Canadian Investment Manager designation and is both a Registered Financial Planner and a Certified Financial Planner. In 1997, he received the Canadian Association of Financial Planners Multimedia Award.
Peter completed his MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. An ongoing supporter of Sheridan alumni events, Peter is also a former member of the college’s Student Capital Fundraising Campaign Cabinet.
