Carol Bureau joined Sheridan in 2011 as Professor of Marketing in the Pilon School of Business.  She teaches a variety of marketing and communications courses.  She is currently the Program Coordinator for the BBA - Marketing Management.  She is also a coach for the Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition.

Carol graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.  After graduation, Carol worked in the industrial sector for Crothers Ltd., working in the market research area for the sales and marketing of Caterpillar heavy equipment.

After leaving Crothers, she held progressively senior positions in sales and marketing, mainly in the pharmaceutical industry.  Carol began her career in market research and progressed through positions as a sales representative, product manager and district/regional sales manager.

Carol worked for two large pharmaceutical companies during this timeframe and eventually, she focused her career in the marketing area as a Therapeutic Area Director.   In this role, Carol’s experience included several innovative and effective marketing launch/pre-launch strategies.  Carol also had the opportunity to work closely in co-promotion and co-marketing agreements with other pharmaceutical companies as the lead for marketing alliances at GlaxoSmithKline.

In 2000, she obtained her MBA from the Ivey Business School where she worked on several innovative projects including customer satisfaction measures, selling to the seniors’ healthcare market, telemedicine in Canada and the development of strategic planning models.

While at Humber College Corporate Education Centre, Carol led the development and delivery of learning solutions for the health industries including online assessments and learning, customized curriculum and public workshops.

Carol also ran a successful consulting practice focused on her areas of interest including strategic planning, product launches and business development.
