National Survey of Student Engagement

National Survey of Student Engagement

What is NSSE?

Since 2000, the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) has gathered data on degree student experience across US and Canadian colleges and universities. The experience includes the amount of time and effort students put into their studies and other educationally purposeful activities, and how the institution deploys its resources and organizes the curriculum and other learning opportunities.

How to complete the NSSE survey

The survey invitation will be sent in March to all students in degree programs via their Sheridan email account. The link to NSSE survey in each email is unique to the recipient. By clicking on the link, you will be directed to the actual survey hosted by NSSE.

Accessible Formats

If you require this survey in an accessible format (paper or other), please contact pam.sondhi@sheridancollege.ca or call ext. 2132.

What if I have difficulty logging in?

The survey is targeted at only degree students. If you think you belong to the pool, but did not receive the invitation email, please email pam.sondhi@sheridancollege.ca to check your eligibility.

If you received the email but had deleted it accidentally or have any difficulty logging in with the link in it, please e-mail help@nssesurvey.org or call 1-800-676-0390 for assistance.

What does Sheridan do with NSSE results?

Sheridan College encourages students to participate in completing this survey to help improve student success and undergraduate experience. Sheridan uses this data to indicate aspects of the student engagement that can be improved through changes in policy and practices. These results also help identify how students spend their time and what they gain from their experiences.   If you have any questions about this project at Sheridan College or how we plan to use the results, please contact Pamela Sondhi at pam.sondhi@sheridancollege.ca or 905-845-9430 ext. 2132.
