Steve de Eyre

Steve de Eyre is the Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs for TikTok Canada. Prior to joining TikTok in 2020, he was Head of Public Policy at Amazon.ca from 2016 to 2020, where he established Amazon’s government relations team for Canada. He also currently serves as a board member for MediaSmarts, Canada's digital and media literacy organization.

Steve has extensive experience in internet and technology policy, international and digital trade, and Canada-US relations. He previously served at the Canadian Embassy in Washington D.C. as the representative for Innovation, Science & Economic Development (ISED), and with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Steve has also worked at the Ontario Legislative Assembly and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.

Steve holds a BA (honours) in political studies from Bishop’s University, where he was named a “Top 10 after 10” alumnus in 2019, and J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he served as a senior fellow with the Canada-United States Law Institute. He lives in Oakville with his wife and two children.
