Masking at Sheridan

In November 2022, Ontario’s Ministry of Health issued a recommendation that individuals wear masks while indoors to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the flu and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV).

While masks are not required at Sheridan, we encourage everyone who comes to campus to wear a tight-fitting mask and remain at home if feeling unwell.

Medical masks are available on campus at designated locations.

What to expect on campus

Most Sheridan programs are being delivered in-person for Fall 2023. You can expect a vibrant on-campus experience with services and activities returning to pre-pandemic levels.

Information for international students

Sheridan is pleased to welcome international students from across the globe. Sheridan is on the Government of Canada's Designated Learning Institutions list, with an approved COVID-19 Readiness Plan. This designation confirms our eligibility to welcome international students travelling to Canada.

How Sheridan is keeping you safe on campus

We continue to focus on our shared responsibility to maintain the health and safety of our community. We work in partnership with our local and provincial public health partners to determine the extent to which our on-campus health and safety measures will remain.

Cleaning and Disenfecting

Cleaning & disinfection: We clean and disinfect frequently touched areas in common spaces at least twice daily and disinfect all of Sheridan’s public spaces once daily. In labs, studios, workshops, and offices, Sheridan community members are encouraged to clean equipment, materials, and workstations before and after use. Medical masks, cleaning wipes, and hand sanitizers are available for students and employees to use at designated locations throughout campus.

Physical distancing in common spaces and offices

We ask that students and employees continue to be respectful of individual preferences for keeping more distance in line-ups, classrooms and offices. Students and employees are still required to have their onecard with them at all times when on campus.

Personal Protective Equipment

Masks and PPE: Sheridan no longer requires individuals coming on campus to wear a mask. However, we remain a mask-friendly community, and encourage everyone who comes to campus to wear a tight-fitting mask if they feel it is the right choice for them. Medical masks are available on campus at designated locations.

Managing Positive Cases

Monitoring positive cases and outbreaks: In alignment with public health processes, Sheridan will provide specific information about your COVID-19 situation based on the information shared with us.

Vaccine

Vaccines: While Sheridan encourages everyone to get vaccinated, including booster shots, proof of vaccination is not required to enter campus. Vaccines are available through many pharmacies and community clinics.

Ventilation upgrades

Ventilation upgrades: The airflow and ventilation in our spaces has been analyzed and evaluated, and filtration systems have been replaced pursuant to recommendations from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) for COVID-19. We continue to undertake measures to reduce the risk of airborne contaminants.
