Sheridan designated an Apple Distinguished School
Sheridan College is proud to announce it has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School. This honour places Sheridan among a select group of schools worldwide to receive this designation for leadership in innovation, teaching excellence, and transformative learning environments.
“Innovation is at the heart of everything we do at Sheridan. For nearly 60 years, it has driven our work to build education that is industry responsive and future focused,” says Rajan Sandhu, Interim President and Vice Chancellor of Sheridan. “It shapes how we teach, how our students learn, and how we prepare graduates to thrive in a rapidly changing world. This recognition from Apple affirms our bold integration of technology to unlock creativity, collaboration, and student success.”
Apple Distinguished Schools are recognized for their documented results in academic achievement and their commitment to leveraging technology to inspire and impact learning. Sheridan’s designation comes as a result of the exceptional work of the Faculty of Animation, Arts & Design (FAAD), where Apple products are central to immersive, forward-thinking education. Apple technology is also used in other Faculties, and technology is continuing to be a part Sheridan’s work to provide equitable, accessible learning opportunities.
“This designation celebrates the ways our faculty and staff work tirelessly to enhance our students’ opportunities through technology,” says Mary Vaughan, Provost and Vice President, Academic. “It’s a testament to our commitment to sparking creativity, fostering collaboration, and preparing learners with the skills they need to thrive in today’s dynamic world.”
Sheridan’s work with Apple products spans 25 years, including collaborative training programs, and the integration of Apple devices across classrooms and labs. This milestone reinforces Sheridan’s position as a global leader in postsecondary education and signals its continued commitment to preparing students for success in the creative and digital industries. As an Apple Distinguished School, Sheridan faculty, staff and students will have the opportunity to collaborate with a global network of like-minded peers and take part in professional development opportunities and resources.
