The results of the latest KPI Student Satisfaction and Engagement Survey/Graduate Outcomes and Satisfaction Survey were released yesterday, and Sheridan once again achieved high scores on key measures that underscore its commitment to academic quality and student success.

For the fifth consecutive year, the proportion of students satisfied with the quality of their learning experience (76.7%) placed us ahead of all other Greater Toronto Area (GTA) colleges as well as above the provincial college average.  As well, 84.3% of survey respondents agreed that “Overall, your program is giving you knowledge and skills that will be useful in your future career”.

Graduation rate is an important indicator of student success, and for the third year in a row, Sheridan out-performed all GTA colleges and exceeded the provincial average with its overall graduation rate of 68.7%.  The results for Sheridan’s degree programs were even better, with a graduation rate of 74.6% placing us first in the GTA, and well ahead of the provincial average of 70.5%.

“Sheridan’s Academic Plan emphasizes our institutional commitment to character, quality and accountability,” says Dr. Janet Morrison, President and Vice Chancellor.  “The KPI survey results are an important benchmark in assessing and tracking how well we are fulfilling that commitment.”

The KPI survey was introduced by the Ontario government in 1998 to collect and report performance data on Ontario colleges.  The survey is conducted by an independent research company.
